Negotiations between the union representing coaches at Pennsylvania’s state-owned universities and Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education continued today at Dixon University Center in Harrisburg. The Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties coaches’ contract expired June 30; by law, that collective bargaining agreement remains in effect until a new one is ratified.
At today’s meeting, the fourth bargaining session for the next coaches’ contract, the teams discussed the proposals they exchanged last month. The next negotiations meeting was slated for Aug. 5–6 at APSCUF’s office in Harrisburg and is in the rescheduling process for late September.
APSCUF represents about 5,500 faculty and coaches at the State System universities: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania.
This release has been edited to reflect changes in the next negotiation dates.
