Negotiators today formally opened talks for the next faculty contract between the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties and Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. In this afternoon’s meeting at the APSCUF office in Harrisburg, the two sides discussed ways to improve the negotiations process. They have not yet scheduled their next meeting.
The current faculty collective bargaining agreement, tentatively agreed upon in October and signed in December, expires June 30, 2018.
APSCUF represents about 5,500 faculty and coaches at the State System universities: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania.
