Yesterday, I sent a letter (via email and paper) to Chancellor Cavanaugh offering binding interest arbitration to settle the outstanding issues in faculty negotiations after the currently scheduled sessions end in November. It set a deadline for acceptance of October 15.
The decision to offer binding interest arbitration was made at the recommendation of the faculty negotiations team, based on our strike manual’s process, and approved by the Negotiations Committee and APSCUF’s Legislative Assembly on Friday. APSCUF issued a press release outlining the details of the offer.
If PASSHE does not accept the binding interest arbitration offer by the October 15, 2012, deadline, APSCUF is prepared to move forward with the strike authorization process at a special legislative assembly scheduled for October 20.
